Mayan Pangarungan joined the Prayer Rally against Cheater candidates
Mayan was alleged to buy votes as well for 1000 pesos per voter. Some of the voters said it was not meant to buy votes but as an amount of generosity to break the fasting in the evening. It was meant to buy food for the Maranaos because in the month of Ramadan sharing your blessing for others to buy something to eat in the table, pleases Allah.
Some say if it was meant to buy votes it should have been the same amount as what incumbent Mayor Majul gave to the people which was 3000 pesos per head in buying the votes. 3000 pesos is obviously to buy votes not merely for transportation but a sign of bribery. 3000 is more than enough to transport. 1000 is enough for transportation and food in the table good for 1 or two days.
Mayan joined the prayer rally because she knows that she never bought any votes. Her family was never known as cheaters every election. She is not thirsty of the position, her primary intention is to offer her service in order to go home in Marawi. She believes that we need a reform in the LGU set up in Marawi but people still chose money over a purely good intention. Now she supported the prayer rally to demand for justice because the recent election was believed to have massive cheating, unbearable acts that electoral board have shown, as well as the ridiculous acts of the Comelec. They find it unacceptable for the rights of the Maranaos that was corrupted as well. They are hoping for an independent body to investigate this as well as the president to give attention to it.
